Understanding the Relationship Between Task History in the “Apps” Section and Recording Desktop App

Introduction: In the digital landscape where automation plays a crucial role in streamlining processes, the management of task histories becomes essential. This blog post delves into the correlation between task histories in the "Apps" section and recording desktop applications to shed light on the nuances of managing diverse automation environments.

Exploring Two Coexisting Builders: Within the realm of automation, we encounter two distinct builders - the API builder and browser automation, alongside the desktop automation. This juxtaposition gives rise to the presence of two separate task histories, each encapsulating a unique set of functionalities and operations.

Task Histories in App Automations: When navigating through app automations, users are greeted with a comprehensive run history that captures pivotal information regarding trigger events, webhook executions, and email transmissions. This detailed run history serves as a repository of execution logs within the apps builder, bringing transparency to the automation process.

Task Histories in Desktop Applications: Conversely, within the domain of desktop applications, the task history takes center stage on the left-hand side, offering insights into the execution logs of browser automations. By delving into specific workspaces and automations, users can explore the task history to review run logs and track the performance of their automation workflows.

Differentiating Task Histories: The divergence in task histories can be attributed to the distinct nature of app builders employed. While the apps builder retains the run history of app automations, the desktop app meticulously archives the task history of browser automations, delineating a clear segregation based on the automation environment.

In Conclusion: Understanding the intricate relationship between task histories in the "Apps" section and recording desktop applications is pivotal for efficient automation management. By leveraging the distinct functionalities offered by each builder, users can optimize their workflow monitoring and enhance productivity in their automation endeavors.

So since we have two different builders kind of coexisting, one being an API builder and one being the browser automation, and then also the desktop automation, um, there is this aspect of having two different task histories here. So in this example, I have, um, my app automations here, which I have my run history where I can see any of my.

Information here, such as like the, uh, the, uh, you know, the trigger firing this web hook, and then this email sending, which I don't know what this one does on the top of my head. Um, but we can see the run history for our app automation inside of the apps builder or the run section here. Inside of the desktop app, we have the task history on the left here inside of any of our automations.

So if I was to click into my workspaces and I click into an automation, I can click on the task history to see the run logs for that browser automation that ran. So again, the difference in task history is just because you have two different app builders. Um, History is going to show in the apps builder, your browser automation history will show in the desktop app or the web app here.
