My scheduled or triggered runs are failing early but my automation works when I run it from my desktop. The scheduled runs started but encountered multiple errors. The manual runs worked perfectly. What do I do?

How to fix failing runs that run successfully on desktop

Have you encountered issues where your scheduled or triggered runs fail early, but the same automation works perfectly when run from your desktop? You're not alone. Many users face this challenge, but there's a simple solution to ensure smooth automation runs every time. (see steps below)

Adjusting Screen Size for Successful Automation Runs

When your automation encounters errors during scheduled runs but works flawlessly in manual runs, the culprit is often the screen size settings. To address this issue effectively, follow these steps:

Step 1: Access Advanced Settings

Navigate to the advanced settings within your automation interface. Look for the option on the left side of the screen.

Step 2: Configure Screen Settings

Click on the screen settings tab to customize the browser size settings. This step is crucial to ensure consistent automation performance.

Step 3: Set Browser Size

To prevent errors related to varying screen sizes, utilize the 'Set Browser Size' feature. Input specific values for the width and height to maintain a uniform browser size during automation runs.

Why Screen Size Matters

Automations with menu bars at the top are particularly susceptible to display issues when the browser size changes. By setting a fixed browser size, you can avoid menu condensation and ensure all options are visible throughout the automation process.

Don't let screen size discrepancies disrupt your automation flows. By adjusting the browser size settings in your automation configuration, you can eliminate errors and enhance the reliability of your scheduled runs.

This article aims to guide users through resolving common issues related to scheduled runs failures in automation. By following the suggestions outlined above, you can optimize your automation setup for consistent and error-free performance.

So to adjust the screen size, when our automation runs, we can click the advanced settings inside of our automation on the left here. And then we can click screen settings. And we can force a browser size by clicking set browser size when the automation runs. So we'll just enter a width and a height here so that the browser is always the same size.

This is most commonly affecting automations that have like a menu in their top bar. And when the browser is slightly smaller, that menu gets changed to one of the condensed ones. Versus it being one of the one that is always open and you can see all of your options. So again, inside of your automation, advanced settings, and then screen settings, and you can customize the browser size.

That way you don't run into those issues when the browser runs headless.
