Checking Existing Chromium Windows

The first step in troubleshooting the missing Chromium window problem is to ensure that you don't have any hidden Chromium windows already open. On a Mac, you can easily check for this by looking at the dock and identifying the Chromium icon with a dot underneath, indicating an open window. If you find any extra windows open that you're not actively using, it's recommended to force quit them before attempting to start a new recording or automation run.

Dealing with Persistent Missing Window

In cases where you've closed all existing Chromium windows but still face the issue of the recording window not showing up, don't worry. You can try a more advanced troubleshooting step. Navigate to the settings on the left-hand menu, select "Task Magic Profile," and then choose the option to "Reinstall Browser." This action will reinstall a fresh copy of Chromium, potentially resolving any underlying issues that may have been hindering its proper operation.

If you were trying to start a recording or play your automation and you're having an issue with the Chromium window not showing up, um, or opening incorrectly, things like that, the first thing to do is make sure that you have all open Chromium windows open. So what that looks like is here. If we had a chromium window open, which we can see because we have this extra icon here with the dot under specifically for Mac telling us that there's something open.

If we have this open and we're not actively recording or running an automation, something probably went wrong. And this has been known to affect some of the users. So what you can do is you can just simply right click and force quit that extra window, um, to make sure that that remains closed or closes before you start your recording or your run again.

Otherwise, if you're not seeing that recording window still, when you're trying to start your recording or run it, You already went through that basic troubleshooting of closing any open ones. What you can do is, is click the settings on the left menu over here, and then click task magic profile, and then click reinstall browser.

And what this will do is this will reinstall a fresh copy of chromium, um, to clear any issue or install it. If there was an issue with it, installing in the first place.
