Exploring the Power of Suggested Steps in Automation with Task Magic
Introduction: In the world of automation and streamlining processes, efficiency is key. One tool that stands out in helping users navigate automation tasks seamlessly is the concept of suggested steps. In this blog post, we will delve into the realm of suggested steps and explore how they can revolutionize your automation experience using Task Magic.
Understanding Suggested Steps
Suggested steps can be game-changers in the automation world. They are designed to capture and hold steps for you, ensuring that your automation process is controlled and intentional. When using Task Magic, suggested steps act as checkpoints that prevent your automation from running amok, allowing you to stay in the driver's seat.
Navigating the Prompt Box and Browser Window
One crucial aspect of utilizing suggested steps is understanding how to navigate between the prompt box and the browser window effectively. As demonstrated in the script, the prompt box serves as a guide for the actions you intend to take, while the browser window is where these actions are executed. By following the sequence of prompts in the prompt box before carrying out the actions in the browser window, you ensure a systematic and error-free automation process.
Leveraging Suggested Steps for Uncertain Tasks
For users like Kyle in the script, who may encounter uncertain or unfamiliar tasks during automation, suggested steps provide a lifeline. They offer a safety net for recording and executing actions with precision, especially in complex scenarios like using click and type functions or implementing multiple clicks for specific actions. By relying on suggested steps, users can learn from the captured actions and replicate them confidently.
Ensuring Seamless Automation Flow
The beauty of suggested steps lies in their ability to maintain the flow of automation without hiccups. Task Magic intelligently guides users to confirm or decline suggested steps, ensuring that each action is deliberate and validated before proceeding. By seamlessly adding steps using the green plus button and confirming key actions, users can keep their automation process on track and error-free.
Mitigating Mistakes and Learning Opportunities
Perhaps the most significant advantage of suggested steps is their role in mitigating errors and fostering a learning environment. By capturing and suggesting steps that users may have missed or overlooked, Task Magic enables users to understand the intricacies of automation and learn from each suggested action. Embracing suggested steps not only minimizes mistakes but also empowers users to enhance their automation skills over time.

Hey everybody, Jeremy Redman here. Kyle. How's it going? From Task Magic. Okay. In this one, we're going to show you what exactly are suggested steps and how to handle them when you encounter them. So Kyle, start a new automation. Okay, cool. So
yes, please breeze past that. He clicked web. All right, now, when you're in here, and go to a, Suggested steps, generally speaking, are steps that we capture and place on hold for you so that the automation doesn't run away from you. Meaning normally what you should do, the normal decorum of what you should do is tell the recorder what you're going to do in the prompt box on the left.
Kyle highlight over the prompt box. The prompt box is on the left. The browser window is on the right. Cool. And you see those two things. Great. So the, the best way to do this is always you take action in the prompt box on the left, and then. You do the thing that you just prompted in the browser window.
Kyle, for instance, click on this, take you to where you can see the options about the actions you're talking about. Yep. Great. So. We did it. We did it here. So now we say what's next and then make a make a type step the normal way the way you should do it is okay. I want to type in this box. So in the prompt window on the left, you click type.
Great. Now you click in the box and start typing and you see it picks it up in the lower bar. Okay, dogs. Now, now what we're going to do here is we're not going to confirm this. We're not going to. Well, you're going to confirm, but we're not going to take any more action in the prompt window, which a lot of people tend to do.
So what they're going to do. Okay, so we just confirmed that we type that now, Kyle, press enter. In the Google box and then go to the next page. Do you see, boom, you didn't confirm ahead of time what you were going to do, but had we not suggested this, we would have been lost. So we go, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. You're going one, two steps too far before actually capturing these steps.
So we, it, we captured, we stopped you and said, open guided window on the left. And now you see the two D the, the red. X and the green checkmark. So on both steps that we picked up two steps suggested steps. Now, if you want to keep the typing dogs You click the green circle, correct? Correct. If you want it to, yeah, you see, we already typed it up there, so we don't need that one, so you can X out that one.
Great. Now you press enter. We do want to keep that enter. So do the green checkbox. Amazing. Now that you've confirmed those two steps, either way, you've declined them or accepted them. The black window. moves to the left and allows you to keep taking steps. Now, the right way to continue is to press the green plus button to add a step.
Boom. But if you don't, for some reason, we will, again, let you go one to two steps beyond inside the browser window and then interrupt you and say, confirm these two steps. So, anything to add with that, Kyle? I really like the suggested steps if you're not too sure how to record something. For example, we've covered the tricky situations like when you need to use click and type or when you need to use type or when you need to use two clicks for things.
Thanks. The suggested steps are a really good way for you to just find out. So if you just do it, and you're not really sure what it needed, um, we will pick it up for you, at least to the best that we were able to capture. So I'm not sure if you want to go over an example like that. But like, if we didn't know how to, uh, Click in here and then click, you know, select an option.
If we didn't know that we needed to type and then select this one, we can just go ahead and record these steps or, you know, we can go ahead this way with just, uh, doing that. What those steps are and kind of either mimic them or accept them. It helps you learn what you did or what was captured so that you can try something.
If it wasn't Kyle, while we're on here, how would you handle this? See results closer to boom. So this will be a click step. Uh, so I, do you want me to do this plus, and then I'll click, click, and then I'm going to do not now because why not, and then we can confirm that. And then the only thing we want to check is that if we click the three dots here, We want to verify this is marked as allow error because that doesn't show every single time.
We don't want our automation to run and try to run this step and it failed because that pop up didn't show. If we turn on allow error, this step is allowed to error and the automation will continue running. Great. So if that pop up doesn't show up again, but we've checked the box allow error, it won't matter.
Correct. Awesome. Is that all with, uh, suggested steps? Yes. Awesome. Thanks so much. Let us know what you want in here. Uh, I think this is pretty cool. Um, it was all my idea. So I was tired of telling you what you missed recording. God, it's a lot of that. Okay. All right, cool. Thanks. Let us know, uh, let us know what you think about this.
We think it's a great way to mitigate mistakes. Um, and also teach you like Kyle, that was a great ad on. Thank you.
